Goa River Marathon
About Us
Vasco Sports Club (VSC) is a football club based in the port city of Vasco, in South Goa, India.A Portuguese Legacy
Vasco Sports Club traces its origins back to 1951, during the time when Goa was still under Portuguese rule. Demonstrating how football transcends boundaries, the Portuguese garrison commander Mr. Tenente Avila, along with local residents, founded a football club named Clube de Desportos Vasco da Gama. Over the years, the club has gone on to win numerous trophies and league titles.
The Birth of the Goa River Marathon (2010)
In 2010, a new chapter began. With many of its officials being avid runners, Vasco Sports Club launched the Goa River Marathon (GRM). What started as a passion project - a marathon by runners, for runners - quickly grew into one of India's top 10 marathons.
The Goa River Marathon is known not only for its AIMS-certified scenic riverfront route, but also for being India's most fun-to-participate marathon, complete with live music and celebratory beer at the finish line.
Now with over a decade of experience, GRM continues to grow, delivering an unforgettable running experience each year.
